Former ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has held a flag-hoisting ceremony as part of their 19th anniversary celebrations.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the MDP Secretariat on Wednesday evening.
Chief Advisor of the party and Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, MDP’s Chairperson and former Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail as well as other senior officials of the party joined the ceremony.
They were joined by lawmakers representing the former ruling party as well.
As MDP completes 19 years since inception, it is the largest political party in the Maldives presently.
Currently, an entirely different system is in place in the Maldives due to the party’s diligent efforts.
The party's lawmakers have been saying that the country cannot be ruled without pledges and a manifesto.
