The remand period of the two individuals who are suspected to have been involved in a case of kidnapping, has been extended.
Two Bangladeshi nationals are accused of kidnapping a Nepalese national, in capital Malé City.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they dispatched a team of officers to a guesthouse in the capital city’s Maafannu district, after receiving reports of the Nepalese man being held against his will.
The victim was rescued and was in good health according to the police.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case of kidnapping.
Arrested in connection with the case were two Bangladeshi men, accused of holding an individual against his will.
They have been remanded at a custodial prison.
