Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer is to undertake an official visit to Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this in a statement publicized on Friday.

The ministry revealed that FM Zameer will be departing from Velana International Airport (VIA) for Colombo, Sri Lanka on June 3.

His visit comes upon the official invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka M.U.M. Ali Sabry.

FM Zameer will conclude his official visit to Sri Lanka on June 6.

As part of the visit, the Maldivian minister will be paying courtesy calls on President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Dinesh Gunawardena.

The visit will also see FM Zameer engaging in bilateral talks with his Sri Lankan counterpart.

The discussions will revolve around ways to further enhance the longstanding bilateral relations between Maldives and Sri Lanka, as well as the provision of convenient facilities to the Maldivian community residing in Sri Lanka.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheryna Abdul Samad, Additional Secretary Shiruzimath Sameer and Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aishath Fareena will accompany the minister during the trip.

FM Zameer recently concluded a fruitful official visit to Antigua and Barbuda alongside President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, to attend the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
