Discussions have been held on boosting cooperation on issues linked to Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

The discussions were held between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth and Department of Environment of the United Kingdom Lord Richard Benyon.

The meeting was held in Antigua and Barbuda on the sidelines of the fourth International Conference on SIDS.

Discussions revolved around a range of issues around enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly on issues linked to SIDS.

President Muizzu noted his administration's determination to combat climate crisis.

He shed light on some of the steps his administration has taken to address concerns related to climate mitigation.

Lord Benyon applauded the Maldives for its active leadership in advocating for SIDS.

He also praised President Muizzu for his strong vision for the development and prosperity of the Maldives.
