Drugs confiscated by authorities
Officers of the Maldives Police Service (MPS) have uncovered drugs in Villingili island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
The drugs were discovered during an operation that stemmed from intel reports received by the Police Intelligence Unit.
The operation was conducted by the intelligence unit and officers stationed in Villingili island.
A search of the island’s reclaimed area led to the discovery of a small package containing suspected narcotics.
No arrests have been made in connection with the case, so far.
However, further investigations are currently underway.
