President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has embarked on a tour of Laamu atoll.
The president departed on the tour of several islands in Laamu atoll, from Velana International Airport (VIA) on Thursday morning.
The President’s Office has revealed that this is an official trip.
As part of the visit, the president is scheduled to hold meetings and engage in discussions with several communities across Laamu atoll.
Discussions will focus around the priorities of the respective island communities.
He will also sit down for talks with the island councils and Women’s Development Communities (WDCs) where discussions will revolve around development needs.
A delegation of senior government officials accompanies the president of the tour.
After concluding his Laamu atoll tour, the president is expected to depart on an unofficial visit to southernmost Addu City on April 12.
