A woman has been arrested, accused of robbery.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that arrested in connection with the case is a 30-year-old woman, native to Thimarafushi island of Thaa atoll.

The Criminal Court has since remanded her for a period of 15 days.

Her remand was ordered by the court as she poses a threat to the safety and security of the public.

The suspect is to have denied the accusations against her.

The court orders states that although the woman did not confess to the crime, the details in the police incident report point to some evidence against the accused.

The woman is someone who has been arrested and remanded in connection with similar such cases, in the past as well.
