A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Cyryx College and EyeCare.
The MoU was signed between Cyryx and EyeCare during a signing event held on Thursday afternoon.
Ahmed Shareef, Chairman and Rector of Cyryx College signed on behalf of the institution and Abdullah Zahir, Managing Director of EyeCare signed the MoU on behalf of EyeCare.
As part of the agreement, students at Cyryx will be offered internships from EyeCare clinics in collaboration with Cyryx College, to offer them training in ophthalmology-related courses as well as diploma and degree level courses and management courses in the health sector.
Cyryx College revealed that as part of the agreement, courses will be designed and will commence within the year.
Local students will be able to take part in the courses and serve at EyeCare clinics as well as other clinics within the sector.
Highlighting that EyeCare has always wanted to give priority to the progress of Maldivians, EyeCare’s MD Zahir revealed that the more Maldivian doctors increase, the more Maldivians will replace foreign doctors in the Maldives.
Further, he revealed that Maldivian students will be provided the opportunity to gather experience at the end of the course, from institutes and clinics abroad.
