Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted for police interrogation in connection with an ongoing probe.
The police institution revealed that the case is being investigated by the Hulhumalé Phase II Police Station.
In a publication made earlier this week, MPS noted that the man is being sought for police interrogation regarding a case being investigated by the police institution presently.
Summoned is Ahmed Ashfaau, 34 and native to Manadhoo island of Noonu atoll.
He is wanted for questioning regarding the ongoing probe.
Ashfaau is accused of involvement in a case of fraud.
He is to present himself to the Hulhumalé Phase II Police Station at 2pm on 11 March.
MPS took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the generous assistance and support extended in such cases.
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the man and handover his summons notice has been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
