The government is to implement a high-quality housing project in Nolhivaranfaru island of Haa Dhaal atoll.
This was announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, during a meeting held with residents of the island on Sunday.
Taking the podium at the event, the president announced that the housing units will be built on the island, as part of the project to build 40,000 housing units across the scatter of islands comprising the Maldives during his five-year presidential term.
Shedding light on the importance of compiling a medium-term and long-term plan to strengthen the island’s population, the president stated that the harbor expansion project will be designed to match the needs of the island community.
Further touching upon the urgency of enhancing the island’s healthcare system, the president noted that the island requires essential specialized doctors and the availability of high-quality laboratory services to be established.
The president also announced a project to construct a new school including a multipurpose hall, on the island.
Muizzu expressed commitment to implement all the development plans he has pledged to the people, while managing the country’s economic situation and budget.
