President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to dedicate efforts to comprehensively develop Thinadhoo City and transform it into a fully-realized urban center.

This was done during a meeting the president held with the residents of Thinadhoo on Tuesday, as part of his tour of some islands in the south of Maldives which he began on Sunday morning.

Taking the podium at the meeting held at Thinadhoo School, the president expressed his sincere gratitude to the people of Thinadhoo City for placing their trust in him during the presidential polls of 2023.

Muizzu pledged commitment to uphold the trust Thinadhoo residents have placed in him.

Promising to devote his efforts towards the comprehensive development of Thinadhoo City and transforming it into a fully-realized urban center, the president shared his plan for the development of the city.

Highlighting that Thinadhoo is among the urban centers of the administration's realization of regional development, Muizzu spoke regarding the signing of the Thinadhoo International Airport Development Project.

As such, he said that the Thinadhoo Airport would be built in accordance with internationally recognized standards.

Muizzu went on to note that the overwater airport would adhere to environmentally-friendly practices and announced the development of a flight training school and twelve resorts as integral components of the project.

This is expected to stimulate the formation of more jobs for the youth as well as boost economic growth in the region.

The president also shed light on the significance of discussions to resolve issues effectively.

As such, he assured that all citizens will be treated equally, regardless of their individual beliefs.

He said that this would pave the path for peace and advocate for the elimination of political prejudice.

Highlighting that his administration came into office to bring political stability, Muizzu urged the people to join hands and work together for the progress of the country.

Shedding light on the economic situation of the country, the president assured that progressive efforts will be carried out to ease the situation.
