Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted for police interrogation in connection with an ongoing probe.
The police institution revealed that the case is being investigated by the police station in Dhaandhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
In a publication made on Sunday, MPS noted that the man is being sought for police interrogation regarding a case being investigated presently.
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate him and handover his summons notice has been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was publicized in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police when investigating criminal cases.
Summoned is Ahmed Shaaheen, 36 and native to Guraidhoo island of Thaa atoll. He is accused of fraudulently acquiring money.
He is to present himself to the Dhaandhoo Police Station or the police station closest to him, at 1pm on February 12.
