The Maalhos Police Post was inaugurated on Saturday
The police post established on Maalhos island of Baa atoll has officially been unveiled.
The Police Post on Maalhos island was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) announced the official opening of the Maalhos Police Post on Saturday, via a post on social media platform ‘X’.
The ceremony was joined by President of the Secretariat of the Maalhos island council, as well as dignitaries from the police institution and other government institutions.
MPS revealed that the establishment of the Maalhos Police Post reinforces their commitment to improve community safety and to encourage law enforcement collaboration.
The police institution inaugurated three more police posts in islands in the north of Maldives over the weekend, including one on Henbadhoo island of Noonu atoll, one on Lhohi island of Noonu atoll and one on Kihaadhoo island of Baa atoll.
As part of efforts to serve the people of the island closely in a decentralized manner, the police services were inaugurated in these islands in collaboration with the island communities.
The police posts are being established with the purpose of providing police services closer to the island community.
