Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has met members of the South Huvadhu Atoll Council.
The meeting was held at the President's Office on Monday morning.
The meeting saw members of the South Huvadhu Atoll Council touching upon development-related challenges faced by the constituency including issues in the progress of tourism and enhancing the health sector.
They went on to shed light on the significance of continuing development projects across the sectors without delays.
The members also stressed that it was crucial to identify the best ways to utilize the lagoons and uninhabited islands in the atoll as well as to ensure the socio-economic progress of the atoll.
Listening to these concerns, the vice president acknowledged the development needs highlighted by the council members as vital for the progress of the atoll.
In addition to this, he affirmed the commitment of the incumbent administration to support the council in facing challenges surfacing for them.
VP Latheef went on to reveal that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has a vision for the progress of the atoll.
He assured that the execution of plans will proceed as soon as consultations take place, with the atoll residents.
