Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has attended the welcoming banquet of the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation’.

The banquet of the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation’ was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, on Thursday.

The Maldivian VP attended the welcoming banquet as part of his ongoing official visit to China.

The gathering was addressed by Vice-Governor of Yunnan Province Wang Hao, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Maldives Mohamed Saeed and Minister of Investment, Entrepreneurship, and Industry (MIEI) of Seychelles Devika Vidot.

VP Latheef will be delivering his address at the opening of the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation' on Friday morning.

This is the second edition of the high-level official development cooperation forum, a joint venture between China and the countries of the Indian Ocean Region.
