The harbor development project in Muraidhoo island of Haa Alif atoll is nearing completion.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Sunday.
As such, taking to Twitter to provide the latest updates of the Muraidhoo harbor development project, MTCC revealed that the project has reached overall 76 percent progress.
MTCC recently delivered the third shipment of rock boulders required for the project to the project site.
Further, the breakwater profiling component has reached 90 percent completion, so far.
The company has also completed the dredging component for the new entrance channel.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct new harbor basin dredging operations in an area measuring 32,721 cubic meters and channel dredging operations in an area measuring 3,817 cubic meters,
The project also entails the construction of a ramp, a quay wall measuring 232 meters, a breakwater measuring 395 meters, a revetment measuring 202 meters and groynes measuring 50 meters.
MTCC will also be installing a harbor pavement in an area measuring 1,933 square meters, a concrete bridge, streetlights and navigational aids.
The Muraidhoo harbor development project is valued at MVR 37.69 million.
