Official results of 2023 Presidential Election announced
This election saw an 87.31 percent voter turnout
This included 239،027 valid votes and 7،888 invalid votes
246,915 people voted in the election

The Elections Commission of the Maldives has announced the official result of the 2023 Presidential Election.

EC's official result shows that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s candidate, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won a total of 109,868 votes and People's National Congress (PNC)'s candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu won a total of 129,159 votes.

The second round of voting in this year’s presidential election took place from 8am to 5pm, on 30 September.

A total of 282,804 were eligible to vote in the second round of the presidential election and official results shows that 246,915 people voted in the election.

This included 239،027 valid votes and 7،888 invalid votes.

This election saw an 87.31 percent voter turnout.

Speaking at the press conference held to announce the official results of the 2023 presidential election, Vice-President of the commission, Ismail Habeeb noted that election agents and candidates are required to submit financial statements within 60 days of the election.

Habeeb went onto say that the internal auditors will review them and send them to the Auditor General's Office once the statements are submitted and that the financial statements will be posted on the website.
