The newly upgraded harbor of Hinnavaru Island in Lhaviyani Atoll has been officially inaugurated.
The completion of the harbor upgrading project was marked during the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's tour of the atoll.
As such, the President inaugurated the newly upgraded harbor of Hinnavaru Island on Thursday.
Hinnavaru harbor development project was contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), by the Ministry of National Planning Housing and Infrastructure on 10 November 2020 and mobilized on 13 March 2021.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC reclaim an area measuring 3.2 hectares of land and dredged and area measuring 65,170.76 cubic meters.
Additionally, a quay wall measuring 421 meters and a breakwater measuring 123.9 meters was constructed as part of the project.
Furthermore, the company built a revetment measuring 170.55 meters, constructed a groyne as well as harbor pavement.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.
President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services initiated by his administration, during his visits to the islands.
