President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has offered condolences following the passing of Martyr Hussain Adam’s father.
In his message, the Maldivian leader stated that Martyr Hussain Adam whose name brings pride to Maldivians and that he was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Martyr Hussain Adam’s father.
President Solih offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Adam Mohamed passed away after a long illness.
He is to have died while receiving treatment for deteriorating health at the hospital, some time on Monday.
He is survived by six children including five women and one man.
Martyr Hussain Adam died aged 19, while returning fire to protect the main headquarters of NSS from a terrorist attack by Tamil Tigers on 3 November 1988. Adam had performed his duties as an officer with utmost dedication until his last breath. In recognition of his courage, his family was granted different special privileges during various administrations as well.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) headquarters was also named after him.
