Bank of Maldives (BML) has honored their employees noted for good performance, at their annual staff awards ceremony.
The country’s national bank in a press release on Saturday, revealed that their staff members with top performance records, were honored with a series of accolades at its annual staff awards ceremony.
The awards were presented by the bank’s CEO and Managing Director Karl Stumke, management and the company’s Board of Directors.
The BML annual staff awards ceremony saw coveted ‘Employee of the Year’ award conferred to Head of Customer Payments and Settlement Huzaath Ali.
Further, the CEO’s ‘Award for Outstanding Achievement’ was conferred to Head of Retail Banking and Cards Badhurudheen Hassan as well as the marketing team.
In addition to this, Head of Operational Excellence Fathimath Haleem was conferred the ‘Best Leader Award’, with Customer Service Manager Mohamed Shaig Ahmed being awarded ‘Best Manager Award’.
The ceremony also saw awards presented to staff and teams who excelled over the past year in several categories including Best Atoll Branch, Best Team, Best Atoll Employee, Customer Service Star and Award for Innovation.
Taking the podium at the event, the bank’s CEO and MD Stumke their team has continued to implement their strategy based on the three core pillars of sustainability, treating customers fairly and digitalization over the years.

The country’s national bank boasts the largest banking network in the island nation and remains one of the largest employers in the country as well, with more than 99 percent of its staff being proud Maldivians and over a third being based in islands.
