Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has successfully completed the land reclamation shore protection project of Ukulhas Island in Alifu Alifu Atoll.

MTCC disclosed this on 25 August, 2023.

Land Reclamation and Shore Protection of AA. Ukulhas was handed over to MTCC by Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure on 10th November 2020. The agreement relating to the project was signed  by Chief Executive Officer of MTCC Adam Azim and Director General at MNPHI Shana Faroog.

The scope of the project included dredging and reclamation of 402,500 cubic meters, construction of rock boulder revetment measuring 1,054 meters and construction of a 80 meters groyne as well as 1,692 meters bund works.

The project was valued at MVR 71.3 million.
