The newly upgraded harbor in Maduvvari island of Raa atoll, has been inaugurated.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih unveiled the island’s newly upgraded harbor as part of his campaign tour across Raa atoll, ongoing as part of his campaign for re-election in this year’s Presidential election, slated for September.
In Maduvvari, the president was accorded a warm welcome upon arrival.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was contracted to carry out the harbor upgrading project in Maduvvari.
The scope of the project included dredging the harbor basin and channel, constructing a quay wall measuring 582 meters and the installment of a revetment measuring 135 meters.
The initiatives underway on the islands represent significant investments in the development and well-being of island communities and are expected to enhance their quality of life.
The incumbent administration has made significant strides towards the equitable development of all inhabited islands nationwide without discrimination, under the capable leadership of President Solih.
The initiatives by the administration have ensured that the quality of life of island residents have been enhanced and they have been empowered to lead dignified lives.
President Solih has been officially inaugurating several development initiatives that have been completed across the scatter of islands comprising the Maldives, as part of his campaign tours.
