Two recently completed development projects have been inaugurated in Fuvahmulah City.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the two completed projects, as part of his campaign tour of the southern city which he began on Sunday evening, as part of his campaign for re-election in this year’s presidential election, slated for September.
Inaugurated on Sunday were the new multipurpose hall at Fuvahmulah School and the football ground at Dhoodigan Ward of Fuvahmulah City during two separate ceremonies.
The Solih administration has made significant progress in its efforts to develop the education sector, by addressing space constraints at schools as well as by constructing facilities for extracurricular activities and commissioning additional infrastructure projects throughout the nation.
The football pitch at Dhoodigan Ward was constructed by iNOCA Private Limited and will be operational for the upcoming academic year.
It was developed with modern amenities, with turf installation.
The Solih administration has implemented several initiatives to provide modern football grounds, futsal fields, and sports courts across outlying atolls.
These efforts carry the purpose of promoting healthy and active lifestyles among young people and fostering the development of local athletic talent.
Upon arrival in Fuvahmulah City, President Solih was accorded a warm welcome by over 700 citizens.
So far, President Solih has embarked on campaign tours of some islands in Kaafu atoll, Vaavu atoll, Shaviyani atoll and Haa Alif atoll. Following the conclusion of his tour of Fuvahmulah, the president will once again embark on a campaign tour of some islands in Shaviyani atoll. He will also head to Haa Dhaal atoll on a campaign tour.
