Police probe sexual assault of tourist in a resort

No arrests have been made in connection with the case

Maldives Police Service

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun probing a case of a tourist falling victim to sexual assault, in a local resort.

The police institution revealed that the tourist was vacationing in a resort located in Kaafu atoll.

The authorities received reports of the rape on June 6.

Currently, MPS is working to collect the samples required for investigation, as well as questioning individuals in connection with the case.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case so far.
