The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted a project to develop the harbor of Innamaadhoo island of Raa atoll.
The signing ceremony took place on Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq on behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and COO Shahid Hussain Moosa on behalf of MTCC.
Thursday’s signing ceremony was attended by Inguraidhoo constituency MP Hassan Ahmed.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct maintenance dredging operations in an area measuring 14,417 cubic meters, new harbor basin dredging in an area of 32,310 cubic meters and 950-cubic meters of channel dredging.
In addition to this, MTCC is contracted to construct a breakwater measuring 204 meters, a revetment measuring 178 meters, groynes measuring 18 meters and a sandfill breakwater outer revetment measuring 222 meters.
A quay wall measuring 472 meters will also be constructed as part of the project.
The installation of mooring buoys, a ramp measuring 11 meters by 11 meters, harbor lights, kerbs measuring 251 meters and a 2,716-square meter pavement also come under the scope of the project.
The Innamaadhoo harbor development project is valued at MVR 67.20 million.
The project was contracted to be completed within 390 days.
