President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has credited the significant development of Addu City, to the confidence placed in his administration by the people.

The president made this remark during a dinner event hosted as part of his trip to southernmost Addu City during the weekend.

Addressing the island residents during the event, President Solih stated that his administration is ready to bring about a raise to the current disability allowance, soon.

Shedding light on pay harmonization, President Solih stressed its importance in bringing favorable transformations in salary structures across all sectors.

Going on to acknowledge the delay in carrying out these endeavors because of the economic challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the president stated that they would have been achieved much sooner, had we not faced the Covid Pandemic.

President Solih went on to note that the extensive requests of the community in Addu led to the initiation of the ongoing development projects in the city.

Shedding light on the administration's success in executing the many large-scale projects that bested the efforts of previous administrations in providing vital services to island communities, President Solih expressed confidence that the remaining tasks in delivering essential services will be minimal, with the swift completion of ongoing projects.

Further, the president highlighted the crucial role the administration has played in maintaining peace and unity, going on to give assurance of continued commitment by the administration towards this purpose.

The president stated that his administration will boost its efforts to enhance gender equality and effectively address the nation's socioeconomic challenges as well.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials, President Solih departed to Addu City on Saturday and concluded his three-day tour on Monday.

This tour aimed to strengthen engagement and explore potential avenues for enhanced collaboration between the administration and the institutions and authorities in the southernmost city.
