AA. Ukulhas harbor development project well underway

The harbor development project ongoing in Ukulhas island of Alif Alif atoll, is well underway.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company on Wednesday.

As such, providing the latest update of the Ukulhas harbor development project via Twitter, MTCC revealed that they have completed the quay wall construction component of the project.

Further, the work to install the harbor pavement has also been completed.

MTCC revealed that the harbor dredging operations have reached 97 percent completion.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct harbor dredging operations in an area measuring 4,954 cubic meters.

The construction of a five-meter breakwater, a revetment measuring 484 meters and a quay wall measuring 264 meters also comes under the scope of the project.

The company will also be building a connectivity bridge, a concrete jetty and an apron.

The harbor pavement installed under the project measures 1,640 square meters.

Further, the project will also see the installation of harbor lights.

The project is valued at MVR 40.3 million.
