The harbor development project in Gadhdhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll is well underway.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company on Sunday.

As such, providing the latest update of the Gadhdhoo harbor development project via Twitter, MTCC revealed that the project has reached 57 percent progress overall.

MTCC revealed that they have completed the work to install the quay wall block.

Currently underway at the site is the quay wall concrete work.

The company commenced the physical work of the project back in November 2022.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to carry out dredging and excavation operations of 23,017 cubic meters.

MTCC will also be constructing a breakwater measuring 232 meters, a revetment measuring 35 meters, a quay wall measuring 320 meters as well as a scouring apron measuring 320 meters and a bridge.

The installation of a harbor pavement measuring 1,600 square meters and harbor lights, are also required under the project.

The project is valued at MVR 40.2 million.
