The two agreements signed on Sunday were on significant areas including sports and education

Maldives and Yunnan Province have signed two agreements.

The agreements were signed as part of the Governor of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province Wang Yubo’s ongoing official visit to the Maldives.

The signing ceremony held on Sunday was witnessed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, Governor of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province Wang Yubo, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Maldives Wang Lixin and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel.

The two agreements signed on Sunday were on significant areas including sports and education.

As such, they included a Tri-partite Agreement Among Foreign Affairs of People’s Government of Yunnan Province, Sports Administration of Yunnan Province of the People’s Republic of China, and Table Tennis Association of Maldives.

The agreement was signed by President of the Table Tennis Association of Maldives Ali Rasheed.

The second agreement was an Agreement for the Cooperation in the Joint Construction of Overseas Learning Center between the Maldives National University and the Yunnan Open University.

The agreement was signed by Vice Chancellor of the Maldives National University (MNU) Dr. Mohamed Shareef.

As part of his ongoing visit to the Maldives, the Governor of Yunnan Province of China paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih earlier on Sunday.
