Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has held an exclusive ‘Maldives Media Meet’ press conference on the sidelines of ATM 2023.
The press conference was held on 2nd May 2023 at Hall 3, Al Ain Suite B.
The press conference was attended by over 50 key middle eastern and international media professionals.
The press conference began with a short introduction about the Visit Maldives Storytellers' Conference 2023.
The latest in MMPRC's global promotional endeavours, the Storytellers' Conference 2023 invites writers, journalists, bloggers, influencers, and all types of storytellers from around the world for the conference and to experience the grandeur of the Maldives.
The press conference was led by the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MMPRC, Thoyyib Mohamed.
The opening remarks were made by Aminath Shabeena, Ambassador of the Republic of the Maldives to UAE, who spoke about the long-standing diplomatic ties between the Maldives and the UAE, and the corresponding impact and significance to tourism.
The second speaker at the press conference was Greg Holder, Base Leader of the Maldives Underwater Initiative (MUI), from Six Senses Laamu Resort. Holder spoke at length about sustainability and its importance in the tourism landscape.
The final speaker at the Maldives Media Meet was CEO Thoyyib Mohamed. Thoyyib highlighted the latest developments and updates of the Maldives tourism sector as the World's Leading Destination 2020, 2021, and 2022.
This is the first time that the Maldives took part in ATM after winning the world's most prestigious tourism industry title for three consecutive years.
The press conference ended with speakers taking questions from the attendees. This was followed by the selection of the five lucky winners who won invitations to the Visit Maldives Storytellers' Conference 2023.
