Discussions have been held regarding the ongoing projects by China in the Maldives.
The discussions were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, as part of Vice Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Deng Boqing’s call on the Maldivian Foreign Secretary, Ahmed Latheef as part of his ongoing official visit to the island nation.
The meeting saw both sides engaging in discussions regarding the significance of the Global Development Initiatives proposed by China as well as ways to further strengthen the bilateral relation between the two countries.
The CIDCA Vice Chairman and Foreign Secretary Latheef also discussed the ongoing projects by China in the island nation.
The meeting saw Foreign Secretary Latheef expressing gratitude to Vice Chairman Boqing as well as the government of China, for the generous assistance it has provided to the Maldives over the years.
He also expressed keen interest to work closely in close collaboration to address shared interests, in the efforts to further enhance the close relations between Maldives and China.
The Vice Chaiman of CIDCA is currently on an official visit to the Maldives.
He arrived on Friday and will conclude his trip on April 3.
