External Affairs Minister of India arrives in Maldives on an official visit

The Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar has arrived in Maldives, on an official visit.

The Indian Minister arrived in the Maldives on Wednesday.

The External Affairs Minister was received at Maafaru International Airport, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid.

Minister Shahid was accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President of the Noonu Atoll Council and members of the Noonu Maafaru Council.

During the visit Minister of External Affairs is scheduled to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of Hanimaadhoo International Airport Development Project, being implemented under Indian Line of Credit.

The Minister will also call on the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.

Additionally, Minister Dr. Jaishankar and Minister Shahid will be holding official talks and witnessing the exchange of several Memorandums of Understanding between the two countries at a ceremony to be held in Noonu Manadhoo.

Moreover, the Indian External Affairs Minister will also participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Shaviyani Foakaidhoo Community Centre.

Furthermore, the Indian Minister will also be visiting Haa Alif Utheemu and tour the historical sites.

This is Minister Dr. Jaishankar’s fourth visit to the Maldives, in his capacity as the Minister of External Affairs of India. His last visit was in March 2022 to Addu City.
