The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 287.6 million on Public Sector Investment Programs (PSIP), within the first 12 days of the year.

According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance, the highest expenditure was made on road development projects. As such a total of MVR 77.1 million has been spent on road development projects so far this year.

Statistics shows that the government has spent MVR 71.3 million on land reclamation by 12 January.

Additionally, the state has spent MVR 60 million on projects related to the transportation sector. As such, MVR 24 million was spent on harbor development projects and MVR 23.4 million has been spent on airport development projects during this time frame. MVR 12.6 million has been spent on bridge development projects.

Ministry's statistics also shows that MVR 26.2 million has been spent on general administration projects.

The government has spent MVR 25.6 million on water and sewerage development projects.

These include MVR 14 million on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 10.3 million spent on water systems and MVR 1.3 million spent on sewerage system installation.

Ministry's statistics goes on to reveal that MVR 22.3 million has been spent on the education sector. As such, MVR 100,000 has been spent on universities and MVR 22.2 million has been spent on schools.

Additionally, MVR 1.2 million has been spent on housing and infrastructure projects.

The Maldivian Government's expenditure currently sits at MVR 1.2 billion according to the Finance Ministry.

Ministry of Finance revealed that the state has received MVR 273.1 million as revenue, so far this year.
