Statistics has shown that the state revenue of the first five days of 2023 is less than the amount the state earned during the same period of 2022.
Statistics revealed by the Ministry of Finance shows that the state earned MVR 61.9 million as revenue, by 05 January 2023. During the same period last year, the state revenue was at MVR 217.6 million.
The Ministry's statistics show that income generated from tax currently sits at MVR 23.1 million. During the same period last year, the state earned MVR 122.6 million as tax revenue.
As such, the state received MVR 5.6 million as General Goods and Services Tax and MVR 8.9 million as Tourism Goods and Services Tax, by 05 January.
Statistics reveal that MVR 2.2 million was generated as Business and Property Tax. This includes income generated as Business Profit Tax, Withholding Tax and Individual Income Tax.
Finance Ministry's statistics goes on to show that the state has earned MVR 1.8 million as green tax during this period.
Statistics show that MVR 4.6 million was earned as Airport Service Charge.
The state received MVR 38.6 million as Non-Tax Revenue, according to the Finance Ministry. During the same period last year, the Non-Tax Revenue was at MVR 211.8 million.
This includes MVR 4.7 million earned as airport development fee and MVR 32.6 million as rent from resorts.
