Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel has departed to Georgia on an Official Visit.
The Minister is visiting Georgia to co-chair the Second round of political consultations between Maldives and Georgia.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the consultations would provide an opportunity to review the existing relations between Maldives and Georgia.
The Ministry notes that these political consultations will also further enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The first round of political consultations between the two countries were held on 11 December 2019 in Male’.
During the visit, State Minister Khaleel is also scheduled to meet with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze and the Chairperson of Foreign Relations Committee at the Parliament of Georgia, Nikoloz Samkharadze.
State Minister Khaleel would also be meeting Maldivian students currently studying in Georgia.
State Minister Khaleel is accompanied by Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed and Desk Officer Saifulla Waleed during this visit.
