Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for two expatriates wanted for police interrogation.
The police institution revealed this via a publication earlier this week, noting that the two men are being sought for police interrogation regarding a case being probed by the Maafannu Police Station.
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the men and handover their summons notice has been to no avail so far, as the MPS has been unable to track them down.
Further, the sponsors of the two expatriates, both Bangladeshi nationals, are also unaware of their whereabouts.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Being sought are Ibrahim Kaleel Miah, 43 and Rubel, 43.
They are both accused of theft and is required to present themselves to the Maafannu Police Station at 2pm on December 15 for questioning.
MPS took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the generous assistance and support extended in such cases.
