Police seek public help to identify woman accused of fraudulent money transfer

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has issued a search for an individual wanted in connection with a fraudulent money transfer case.

In a video footage publicized by the police institution on Monday, a woman dressed in black, is seen walking out of a restaurant. The police have sought public help in identifying and finding the suspect.

The woman in question, is accused of fraudulently transferring more than MVR 180,000 from a person’s account without their knowledge, to another person.

The case is being investigated by the Economic Crime Department of the police institution.

The public has been urged to contact MPS’s Economic Crime Department through 9790048 if any information on the suspect is attained.

The police institution also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public, for the immense help extended to the authority in such cases.
