President’s Award for Special Achievement
President’s Award for Special Achievement to be conferred at Republic Day function
The Special Awards Committee selected the recipients of the awards.

The Republic Day function will be held at Dharubaaruge at 08:30pm on November 10

The President’s National Award for Special Achievement will be conferred to recipients at the official function to mark this year’s Republic Day.

The Special Awards Committee announced that the special achievement awards as well as the Special Medal for Memorizing the Holy Quran will be presented at this year’s Republic Day function.

The Republic Day function will be held at Dharubaaruge at 08:30pm on November 10.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be conferring the awards to 13 individuals who memorized the Holy Quran entirely while attaining the highest grade, nine individuals who achieved exceptional distinction in completing studies at MQA rank 10, and 41 individuals who graduated in the highest rank.

Further, award recipients also include an individual recognized for skill and innovation and an organization for its contributions to human resources development in the field of tourism.

The Special Awards Committee selected the recipients of the awards.

The president is also scheduled to address the nation at the Republic Day function.

In addition to this, the committee revealed that the National Award for Public Service will be conferred at during a function scheduled to be held in December 2022.

The President's National Award for Special Achievement are to be conferred to individuals who have performed exceptionally well and made substantial contributions to national progress.

The award was conferred in four categories in previous years, however, this year it will be featured in five categories.

Individuals who have performed exceptionally well in the field of higher education and training are eligible for the first category. Nominees are required to have a certificate equal to Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) ranking levels 10 with an exceptional result and individuals acquiring certification equivalent to MQA ranking levels 7, 8, 9 and having achieved the highest rank in their course at their higher education institution to be eligible for the first category.

The second category is for those who excelled in an international competition or exhibition.

Individuals who have created innovative and effective solutions to persistent national issues through research, are eligible for the awards under the third category.

The fourth category is for those who showed exceptional creativity and innovation in their field and have had a positive impact on the national progress. Individuals must be between 18 and 35 years of age to be eligible for this category.

The new and fifth category was introduced to coincides with the 50th-anniversary celebrations of tourism in the Maldives and will recognize the outstanding, creative and innovative contributions of tourism sector stakeholders and staff towards developing the industry and the nation, through tourism.
