The Fertility Support Community has launched its ‘IVF Fund’.

FSC launched the fund in a bid to support Maldivian families in need of financial assistance to start a family.

The IVF Fund was launched by the local NGO, during a fundraising gala dinner hosted to commemorate the World Fertility Day, revolving around the theme ‘A Night of Hope’, on November 2.

Mariyam Sheneen, praised for her support to the NGO since it was established, launched the fund.

Under the IVF Fund, the FSC will support Maldivian couples who haven’t had the opportunity to afford the treatment for themselves, to seek IVF treatment.

As such, the NGO revealed that one married couple will be granted financial assistance under the fund, each year.

The gala, officiated by Deputy High Commissioner of India to the Maldives Pooja Tillu and Dr. Sankalp Singh who specializes in infertility, also saw a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between FSC and India’s Yaami Fertility Clinic, under which an opportunity will be provided two couple to undergo IVF treatment.

The MoU was signed by Founder and President of FSC Asha Hussain and Founder and Director of Yaami Clinic, Dr. Sankalp Singh.

The opportunity to apply for the fund is open to those above 25 years of age who are also required to have been married for over two years.

FSC went on to reveal that should the applicants be under 25 years of age, they will be eligible under certain criteria and after thorough medical checkup.

MVR 200 will be collected as an application fee under the fund and the NGO will be combing through the applicants’ records before selecting.
