The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced an architectural design competition worth Rf 1 million.
The HDC said the competition is open to both local and foreign participants. The competition aims to provide an opportunity for talented and competent architects to submit sustainable and creative designs.
The participants of the competition, worth Rf 1 million, will have to develop a concept on the theme “commercial spine of the tourism island” including traditional and contemporary design. The commercial spine will be an area where the public can easily do business and spend their free time with many sports activities.
The winner of the concept stage of the competition will receive a prize of Rs 200,000 The second runner-up will receive Rs 30,000 while the third runner-up will receive Rs 20,000.
In addition, the winner will have the opportunity to prepare detailed design drawings of the concept and will be awarded Rs 750,000 as a prize.
Registration for the competition is available through the HDC Competition website /https://design.hdc.com.mv. As such, only one concept can be submitted on behalf of each participant.
The deadline for registration is Monday, September 12, HDC will hold an information session for those who register and more information about the competition will be available on the company's website.
