The Maldives’ women’s team has beat Djibouti in the First Round of the Table Tennis (TT) Team Event in the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games 2022 being held in Konya, Turkey.
Maldives won all three games against Djibouti on Tuesday.
Fathmath Jumana Nimal competed in the first singles round in the match, having won all three sets.
As such, she won the three sets 11 – 2, 11 – 9 and 12 – 10.
Fathmath Dheema Ali competed in the second singles round, having emerged victorious in all three sets as well.
Dheema took the sets 11 – 3, 11 – 7 and 11 – 3.
In the final game, Aishath Rafa Nazim and Dheema succeeded in a doubles’ round, in all three sets.
Maldives won the final doubles 12 – 10, 11 – 6 and 11 – 6.
The women’s team is also scheduled to compete against Turkey on Tuesday.
Further, the men’s TT team will go up against Iran as well.
