The shore protection project in Rasmaadhoo island of Raa atoll, is well underway.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Monday, revealed that they are currently constructing the groyne as part of the Rasmaadhoo shore protection project.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to build a groyne measuring 336 meters.
The Rasmaadhoo shore protection project is valued at MVR 11.6 million.
The design and build of shore protection structures at Rasmaadhoo was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 29 March 2021.
The contract was signed by CEO Adam Azim on behalf of MTCC and Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed representing the ministry.
The project was contracted to be completed within 180 days.
