President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih commenced his trip to the southern most cities of Maldives, on Friday.
President Solih is accompanied by the First Lady Fazna Ahmed and by a delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials from the government.
He arrived at Fuvahmulah City on Friday evening, and was given a warm welcome by the residents of the city.
The President's trip to the southern cities of Maldives, Addu and Fuvahmulah is a four-day trip.
During this visit the President is scheduled to hold discussions with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of each City and meet the residence of the two cities.
President Solih and the First Lady are scheduled to visit and tour important landmarks and developmental sites initiated by the government and check the progress of these projects during their visit.
According to the agenda shared by the President's Office, the President will be inaugurating the Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Center in Hulhumeedhoo district of Addu city and the National Academy of Policing and Law Enforcement in the city, during the trip.
The President will also be signing an agreement to increase plots of land, mobilize the road construction project in Addu City, as well as, inaugurate the harbor of Maradhoo district and the harbor of Meedhoo district.
The President will also be officially opening Masjid Ibrahim Mosque in Hithadhoo.
