Ministry of Tourism has introduced a TikTok Challenge in celebration of Maldivian Tourism's Golden Jubilee.
This TikTok Challenge of Tourism Ministry, targeting both Maldivians and foreigners will be held from 12th March, 2022 to 10th May, 2022.
Participants can upload videos from 12:00am 12th March to 11:59pm 10th May. Each participant can upload a maximum of three videos from their accounts.
The Ministry states that the TikTok video should be of 60 seconds with a clip containing a person lip syncing to the Maldives Tourism Golden Jubilee Theme Song “Nala Nala Raajje”. The video should be uploaded with the official TikTok handle of Ministry of Tourism, “@mot.mv” and should also contain hashtags, #Maldives #NalaNalaRaajje #maldivestourism50 #visitmaldives.
Tourism Ministry highlights that this challenge is open for everyone regardless of their age, gender or nationality.
Evaluation of the entries will begin on 11th May.
The two categories for Maldivians are, Category A, for TikTok user accounts above 10k+ followers and Category B, for TikTok user accounts below 10k Followers. Three winners from both the categories will be selected. First place will receive a prize of MVR25,000, a prize of MVR15,000 is allocated for second place and the third place winners will receive MVR10,000.
The two categories for foreigners are, Category A, for TikTok user accounts above one million followers and Category B, for TikTok user accounts below one million Followers. Two winners from both the categories will be selected. First place winners will get a eight days holiday package for two. Second place winners among foreigners will receive a five days holiday package for two.
The winners will be announced on May 17, 2022, via the Ministry of Tourism's official social media accounts. A panel of judges will select the winners, and points will be awarded on a pro rata basis to the videos with the most views, likes, and shares in that category. Number of views of the videos will carry 35 percent of the points, 25 percent is allocated for likes and 40 percent is allocated for the number of shares.
While the Ministry of Tourism has released an official song in celebration of Tourism Golden Jubilee Year titled, ‘Nala Nala Raajje’, the Ministry is holding different events in relation to the Tourism Golden Jubilee Year.
