Discussions have been held regarding the socio-economic development of Fuvahmulah City.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held a meeting with the Fuvahmulah City Council members at the President’s Office on Wednesday. The meeting was joined by parliamentarians representing the constituency.

Extensive discussions were held regarding the city’s socio-economic progress as well as development plans for the future.

The meeting saw Fuvahmulah councilors sharing the needs and concerns of the city community with the president.

Discussions were held on ways to expedite ongoing and planned socio-economic developmental projects across the city as well including harbor, road, housing development and upgrading healthcare services.

Further, Fuvahmulah councilors requested the government to develop additional roads after the ongoing road development project concludes.

President Solih assured the members that his administration will work to address housing concerns of the city residents, shedding light on the growing demand for housing.

The president and Fuvahmulah City councilors also discussed waste management, the need for a training and vocational education center, enhancing policing, increasing the council’s financial capabilities as well as tackling challenges to promote local tourism.

The president assured the councilors that he would work to find amicable solutions to the issues at hand and expressed gratitude for their support and cooperation in taking the administrations development agenda forward.
