The Ministry of Defence and National Security has hosted a forum in commemoration of International Women’s Day 2022.

The forum revolved around the theme, “Break the Bias” and came in accordance with the Ministry’s belief in the power of open dialogue. The forum was attended by the Ministry’s staff.

The forum saw lively discussions held to share the honest thoughts and experiences by women and was joined by Minister of Defence and National Security Mariya Ahmed Didi. It saw issues relating to bias and discrimination faced by women in all areas of life and society, shared by the members.

The discussions also revolved around ways to tackle these issues.

During the forum, Minister Mariya shed light on the significance of women speaking up and having their own voices, taking up space in society and standing up for themselves even in the workplace.

She was joined by Director-General of National Counter-Terrorism Center BG (retired) Zakariyya Mansoor.

The forum was moderated by Director of Anti-Human Trafficking Ali Jaishan Amir, who was joined by Permanent Secretary Shaan Mansoor, Senior Executive Director Aminath Sanaau and Director-General of Aviation Security Hussain Nazeef.
