Services provided by the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital is now at tertiary level, states the Manager of the hospital Ahmed Dawood.

Speaking at the "Falasurukhee" program of RaajjeTV, Dawood stated that great changes have been brought to the hospital during the past three years. He highlighted that the number of doctors, nurses, lab technicians, radiographers and other such staffs doubled. Dawood mentioned that the machineries were also upgraded during this period.

The number of employees at the hospitals increased from 200 to 370.

Moreover, services such as MRI, CT scans and Thalassemia DNA testing, mammography has also been introduced at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, along with the increase in new and upgraded machineries. While improvements were brought to the NICU of the hospital, a resuscitation room and a labor room were established in the hospital.

The hospital now have a dental ward and can provide OPD services.

Dawood stated that work was done to ease the service provision, as such the use of internet and social media applications were introduced in customer service.

Speaking about the construction of a new hospital building in Kulhudhuffushi Dawood stated that the land where the building would be constructed has been decide and that the construction work would start this year.

Moreover, Dawood stated that once the tertiary hospital is built in Kulhudhuffushi, they will change the service provision of the regional hospital to the tertiary hospital.

Dawood said that the old building will also be used for different units of the hospital and that the government has not given any specific instruction on how to use the buildings. He assured that the hospitals will be used in the way that will benefit the people.

A project of MVR 2.2 million was carried out to renovate the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
