Economic growth goes hand-in-hand with increasing capacity building efforts, particularly in the aviation industry, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.

VP Naseem took the podium at the event to officially inaugurate the Maldivian Aviation Academy, held at the Maldives National University (MNU) on Tuesday.

Highlighting that the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih remains committed to develop human resources, VP Naseem revealed that the government has made several efforts to address the multiple concerns and challenges facing the Maldivian student pilots enrolled in training programmes across the nation.

As such, the inauguration of the new flight training school mirrors these efforts.

Going on to shed light on the progress of the aviation industry across Maldives, VP Naseem talked about the significance attached by President Solih to developing human resources and capacity building.

The vice president went on to urge students who will be studying at the new flight training school, to make the most of the opportunity and to work collaboratively to give good service when they enter the industry.

Launched through the collaborative efforts from the Island Aviation Services, MNU and Czech Republic-based Flying Academy, the Maldivian Aviation Academy’s programmes have been opened for registration.

However, student pilots who have had to discontinue their training for different reasons will be given priority.
