National Awards to be conferred during National Day ceremony slated for Wednesday
The National Awards Committee selects recipients each year.

The government is to confer National Awards to 29 recipients during this year’s National Day ceremony, slated for Wednesday.

The President’s Office revealed that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be addressing the public at the special ceremony to commemorate National Day 2021, celebrated on the first of Rabīʽ al-Awwal each year.

The ceremony will begin at 8:45pm at the Republic Square.

According to the President’s Office, four individuals will receive the National Award of Honor this year, with the National Award of Recognition to be awarded to 14 recipients. Further, the National Award for Special Achievement has the names of 11 recipients this year.

Of the recipients of the National Award of Honor was the recipient of the National Award of Recognition previously.

The National Day ceremony will also see six individuals awarded for achieving exceptional distinction in completing studies at MQA rank 10, followed by the awarding of four individuals for achieving the highest rank in an academic or training course and one individual for performing creatively and innovatively in their field and acknowledged to have had a “positive effect” on national progress.

In addition, a special medal for Memorizing the Holy Quran will also be presented at Wednesday’s ceremony.

Established to determine the recipients for the prestigious award, the National Awards Committee selects recipients each year.
