Government to launch mental health scholarship scheme "soon"

He revealed plans to offer 30 scholarship opportunities, of Master’s level
President Solih made the announcement at the ceremony to launch the National Skills Development Masters Plan on Wednesday

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced that the opportunity to attain a scholarship of Master’s level in the field of mental health will be open, soon.

He made this announcement at the ceremony held on Wednesday morning at Hotel Jen to launch the National Skills Development Masters Plan, where he revealed plans to offer 30 scholarship opportunities in the area of clinical psychology, professional counselling and addiction studies.

The president said this is because "mental health is one such area that requires special attention".

In his speech he affirmed that the development of people’s skills is a priceless future investment. Therefore, he called out to all parents to extend their complete support for the work the administration is conducting and asked that the entire youth use this opportunity to their advantage and develop their skills in order to be a part of the progress of the entire nation.

President Solih further noted that the aim of the National Skills Development Project is to provide a path for young people who already possess the talent a to develop their skills and be able to contribute to the development of the nation.
